9 week photo!
Well, today marks week 10 but I am just posting week 9's photo- we will blame it on fatigue and an
"i cant bring myself to lift a finger led alone put on presentable clothing" syndrome..no one tells you that in the (i hope beginning only) you just dont have the umph to do anything! Im surprised I find the energy to breath! And im so ready for that part to be over bc I actually am beginning to miss cleaning my house and paining my nails. So here is our 9 week photo! Week 10's photo will be up later this week!

First ultrasound and Midwife appt!
Today marked our first appt with the midwife! Who were wonderful by the way!!! They listened for the heartbeat but couldnt hear it bc the baby would not stop moving! It was swimming and dancing all over the place! That in itself was so neat to hear! After that we were sent to do our 1st ultrasound, which I was told previously by other people that they wouldnt perform so we were so excited to hear that they would in fact be getting one! Once there we were able to see the baby, who was in deed, very active and was waving its arms and legs and moving all around! It measured right on date at 10 weeks tomorrow and was just over 1 inch long, the heart beat flickered on the screen which was so nice to see! The heart beat was recorded as 172bpm- right on track with normal at this point :) It was emotional to see and made Ben teary, while I felt excitement - seeing something bounce around and knowing its inside you is definitely surreal! And we both agreed that it makes you love them instantly ( as any parent has always said)...Here are our first images of baby B :))

Happy 9 weeks!
Today marks 9 weeks! In one week we will have our 1st Appt. with our midwife and hopefully little baby B will let us hear his/her heart beat that day! Midwives only do a 20 week ultrasound so we will not get to see baby B until then, but hearing baby will be just as good! I am posting this amazing video shared with me by someone i work with. If you'd like to skip the lecture at the beginning, you can just jump ahead to about 2:00 min. and the movie will begin. The man speaking is explaining how he created various computer programs and algorithms and they were used in the MRI shown. An MRI typically takes slices of photos that are black and white and unless you understand what you're looking it, it all makes no sense to the average person. This program allows the MRI to then be turned into 4 dimensional images and color and animation added to create a real life visual of whatever you are looking at. A woman volunteered to have MRI images taken from conception to birth and then gave birth on the MRI machine. The images were turned into this amazing movie that, for the first time ever, show how awesome the growth of these cells into a human really is! At the end, it shows the woman giving birth and overlays the MRI image so you see the baby still inside the womb and the outside of the mother giving birth. I just found it to be an AMAZING step for research! And shocking to see how the baby actively helps be born! (this is not an actual labor video, so it is safe for work and those who are squeamish!) The video is only about 3 min. so enjoy! Let me know what you think!

Going on 8 Weeks!
Well we officially arrive at the 2 month mark this weekend! 4 more weeks and we will share our news with the rest of the world ( work, facebook, etc.) That means its real and not just an imaginary momentary sickness! Although, i cant complain too much- i have not been sick but feel this gross stomach ache all the time. And we wont even get into all the details of the other awesome annoyances! But overall, I feel pretty good- as long as im in bed by 7pm and dont get woken up before 9am :)) Baby B is the size of a Blueberry and has arms and legs forming, there are thin eyelids, an upper lip and tiny nose forming! and we no longer appear to be a tadpole! Our 1st dr. appt is jan 27th, so although we havent yet heard a heartbeat were confident that all is going well and our baby is growing by leaps and bounds!
Can you believe our baby has gone from this at week 1:
To being 10,000 times bigger than it was 6 weeks ago!
Welcome, lets get this started!
Well, you all now know that baby makes 3 and we figured we'd join the bandwagon and start a blog- i hesitated until this point because who wants to hear about me and ben? but people MIGHT want to hear about their new cousin, niece, nephew, grandchild, or great grandchild! I hope to keep a nice log of the events taking place, especially for family who i may not see everyday or talk to daily either; and we hope to keep the info coming once baby B arrives! of course, those posts will include photos which will make the blog way cooler than it is right now :)
The proof staring right back at us...
Christmas Eve with our "dirty santa" onesie...
Close up of the onesie- Ben created it to include all of his favorite things ;)
