9 months today!

It took 9 months to grow your perfect little body from start to finish, 40 weeks to the day. And now youve been out of my body for 9 whole months! In those 9 months youve learned words such as dada and nana (mama), welcomed 6 teeth, learned to roll over, sit up, pull up, crawl, walk ( practically run!), clap, you laugh, scream, compete to talk over those around you, you understand "no" and "nap nap" both of which make you cry, you can say "milk" in sign language, turn your toys on and off, play daddys drums and throw a really impressive fit with a full on contortionists arched back haha! You love smiling and looking in mirrors with us, you are nonstop during the day but love to be snuggled and rocked at bedtimes. You are the sweetest thing in this world!
Its just amazing to see what you learn every minute of each day! And i cant believe that in 3 more months my infant will be a toddler, turning 1 year old. But lets NOT talk about that!

Happy 9 months sweet boy! I did some hard work growing every cell of you, and youve done a million times more work in your 9 months outside of me than i could ever do! youve got skills :)
 And i love you!

 This sweet personality! .....

1st Mothers Day!

We recently celebrated my 1st mothers day ever! Last year on mothers day we were in the middle of the caribbean on our last childless vacation! I was 5 months pregnant, so technically you went along with us...silently. But you made it clear that you loved dinner because every night as we sat down to eat the 5 star meal, youd begin to kick away in excitment. little did i know that youd still love food that much once you were born! :) Actually, you kick your legs excitedly still, when you see me preparing your meal!

Last mothers day:

watching you kick...

About to sail away with Grandmommy!

This mothers day, we hung out at home and had your uncle mike, uncle ronnie, aunt ashlee, grandmommy and pimpaw/ grandaddy over for lunch- its just easier to have people at our house since you seem happier in your environment, with your toys and taking naps in your bed. And im ok with that too! plus, with you walking- we have our house all mapped out with the safe areas to let you "let loose"! You gave me a 1st mothers day mug with photos all over it and a card- and i LOVED it all! My mom and Wilton added a dragon to pandora charm bracelet since you were born in the coveted "year of the dragon"! Daddy gave me a necklace with your footprints and birthstone as well as a mani/pedi- this also marked the 1st time id ever left you to do anything for myself! i enjoyed the time to exhale but was happy to return to your smiling face!

This mothers day:

Not to mention, you recently became a walking pro! You want to practice your skills all day!

You also think you can pick things up with your feet...

you are enjoying clapping too- one of your other new talents...

and when youre exhausted you want your blankie and paci...those 2 items make it all better :)

Thank you for choosing me, for making me a mommy, and for making mothers day so wonderful.
I love you!

Park Play, More Teeth and First Steps!

The other day mom and I took Phoenix to the park for the first time! He just loved it! He has a swing at home, but i thought hed enjoy seeing other kids as well as take in all the scenery since he loves being outside so much. It was a hit! It didnt hurt that it was a beautiful day and he looked gorgeous in the photos! Cant wait to go back!

Also in the last few weeks this 8 month old has welcomed 2 more teeth up top! thats a grand total of 6 teeth now! and he bites- i dont think he even knows he has these weapons yet haha! while running around the table in his walker, he bit his tongue for the 1st time and seemed pretty shocked by it, according to my mom, who was with him at the time! no blood luckily, just shock!

And todays biggest news: Phoenix walked! Well, he had taken a few steps here and there in last few weeks, but today he realized he could let go and just...take off! hes been enjoying playing in his play pin, and i think that has given him the confidence he needs bc he feels so safe to take risks in it. since playing in there hes been taking more and more steps! today, he decided to walk half way across the nursery! you can imagine my surprise! unfortunately, hes getting so confident that hes crawling 100 miles an hour, and fell while going from a sitting position to a crawling position and was met by the steel handle on the dresser. his nose and top lip took the hit and he immediately had a bloody nose and swollen lip. he cried. i cried. daddy tried to be calm. i cried more. and then i cried some more. i dont know when i last cried that much??? so naturally the nurse in me will be checking on him all night long. it doesnt sound so bad- but he really took a hard hit to the face. im still worried he damaged his nose. but i guess well have a better idea of the injury in the am. for now hes sleeping peacefully. i, however, may not :(

so in all, today was a celebratory day of Phoenix hitting such a huge milestone, ( and at 8 months none the less! Go P!) and a sad day for us because our baby had his first big injury. As everyone has said, im sure this is the first of many. This is the price you pay for an active baby!

Look mom no hands!

Playing after his injury :(
poor baby!
