Watering mommys plants and bandaged toes

Recently this guys big toes have cracked open on the bottom and are flaky and dry :( but we assume its from his insistence
On playing barefoot outside! He doesnt seem bothered but he enjoys getting them doctored and banaged up :) the bandage makes them seem worse than they are- he just enjoys the process :)

"I like to nose"

Last night we went to a fish fry at gmas neighbors house. While we were there you had to pee so we went inside to use the bathroom. Before you could pee you had to open all the bathroom cabinets and look inside. I said , "why are you opening all those cabinets and nosing! :)" you said, "bc i like to nose!"  I was pretty impressed that you used the correct grammar when saying nosing vs nose. But then we went outside you retold the story to gma bc you knew it made me laugh and when you retold it you said "mommy asked why i was nosing and i said bc i like to be nosy!"  Then i was even more amazed that youd now said, " nosing, nose and nosy". All in the correct context. Everyone said you were way too smart for a 2 yr old, and even our friend who teaches pre-k said you could speak better than most of her 4 yr old class! You raced with Julie (moms neighbor who held the fish fry) and her granddaughter and even rolled through the grass on a race with them too :) you managed to win everytime! You asked julies chickens in the sweetest voice with your hands on your knees, " hi chicken! Are you having a fun day with your other chicken friends?" It was adorable for sure!

Mommys birthday!

Last week i turned 31... How did that happen so fast?! That morning gma took me and p to cracker barrel for breakfast! Yum!! Then that night i had plenty of amazing people to celebrate with and have more bday fun: P, Grandmommy, pawpaw, daddy, aunt ashlee and uncle charles were all here for the fun :) grandmommy brought cake, white cake choc icing per my request, with 31 candles and all my titles on the cake: mommy, babe, fnp, poody, mandy- it was so great :) you sang to me and helped me blow out all the candles! The best birthday gift came at he end of the night, while you and i snuggled in your bed for bedtime you said, "thank you mommy for spending your birthday with me!" ... I wouldnt have wanted it any other way!!! You made me the best photo calander and a card that you traced "to mommy" all by yourself! Daddy got me a new bathroom light ( ive been wanting one forever!), gma and pawpaw got me lots of amazing plants, painted a cabinet shelf for the bathroom id been trying to find time to paint myself (but couldn't find that time), new sandals, a portable/ emergency phone charger, undies and a shirt. Aunt ashlee got me 2 new bracelets  to go with a set she started for me at xmas :) it was such a great night and you loved all the attention, too :) cant wait to see what fun this year brings us all!

First dance

Last night while watching dancing with the stars, you mimiced every move they did! From ballet to hip hop! At the end, a salsa couple came on to dance and you said "mommy get up and dance with me like them". So we did. We held hands and turned and spun and danced just like them while you giggled uncontrolably. And i realized as we danced, that this was our first dance :) how special is that for a mommy? I cant wait for many more :)

Here you are right before we danced, mimicing the tv dancer exactly!

Electricity.

Last night P woke up at 3am. Hes done that a lot lately. But not only is he waking, but his brain is in overdrive to the point that the poor boy isnt able to go to sleep for hours. Last night he finally nodded off in my arms snuggled in his bed at 515am. Thats not really the crazy part. Whats crazy is when we climbed into his bed after he came and got me in my room, he laid down and wanted to talk. About what you may ask- hes 2... So maybe cartoons? Bugs? Silly words? Nope. My 2 year old wanted to talk about  electricity. And how it works. How we pay for it. And how it is different from our water system which he remarked is from the water tower down the road. He said he knew electricity made our fans come on and refrigerator cold and our music and lights work . But HOW does its work and how do WE get it. And how is that different from the water that comes out of our sink from the tower?  Yep. This is our 3am, 2 yr old, convo.  Ive said hes smart before, but for real. Hes smart this guy. Tonight when i snuggled and sang to him at bedtime, he asked a new question that he hadnt touched on last night and i quote, " is there electricity on the interstate?"  Yep. I know. Crazy. He also made sure to cover these casual topics today while we played in the pool:

- dolphins, whales, their language and their use of sonar to communicate
- kinetic energy ( thanks to uncle mikes lesson)
- venus fly trap plants
- and if chipmunks are named that bc they eat chips.

What can i say. This boy is awesomely awesome.

Also awesome was this morning, though not the first time Ps come into our room on his own in the night/ morning, it WAS the first time he came in quietly without talking and crawled in next to me in bed (ben was already at work) and snuggled under the covers. Shortly after he began talking to me but not before sneaking in next to me :) he only recently began leaving his room instead of crying out for me, but this was a first :) it was so sweet!

1st time waking me

Today was the first time you walked into my room and woke me up :) i heard footsteps then a little voice at my head,
" mommy, wake up its goodmorning time!" Who wouldnt wanna wake up to that?! I melted!

We also visited krispy kreme today! You went with grandmommy and pawpaw a few days ago and loved it so you requested to go again :) we then soent a bit in mcdonalds indoor playplace ( sorry mcd's we didn't buy any food!) and then came home to 3 hours of outdoor water play! As usual tonight, you had me laughing nonstop at your amazing sense of humor and ability to be funny at such ayoung  age!

At bedtime i laid with you, you have began to love me laying in bed with you, which makes me quite happy too! You asked for another kiss because the first one accidnelty wiped off, you said "i need another kiss so i can keep it". Happily!

With gma and pawpaw the first trip to krispy kreme-

Tough day but unforgettable words

Today was a tough one. You threw a major tantrum at the indolr playground i took you to and we had to leave within minutes of arriving bc you wouldnt listen or follow instructions. But before we left, you tried to talk to a few of the other kids who didnt give you much attention, which made me sad for you, you just said cmon mommy come in the playplace with me so i did!

Halfway up the climb you turned back to look at me and said something that i knew as soon as i heard it, would be a short lived feeling you would have towards me and that made it so special. All too soon you wont feel this way and wont speak these words to me again, so for that i smiled in the moment and my heart swelled!

You turned to look over your shoulder at me and said, " i dont want the other kids to come with me mommy. I want you mommy. I want you."

You wanted me to play with you and follow you through the jungle gym. You wanted me to discover it all with you and chose me as the playmate of choice :)

Sadly shortly after we had to leave and on your tantrum out the front door you skinned you knee falling. Then you cried the whole way home bc you "were sorry and wanted to go back". But by that time i had to follow through taking you home   Maybe soon youll understand that mommies have to have rules even if it makes life no fun :( it was a hard day for us for sure but even hard days have  gems hidden throughout them, qnd that was certainly one of them :)

Later you fell asleep in my arms and then daddy went to the neighbors house with tou on the mower and you played with their kids-who were a bit bossy to you but you seemed happy. I dont like seeing other kids mistreat you so i stayed close by. But you told me you had fun regardless! You hunted lightening bus with them and drove your first battery powered car.

"Love you"

Such a wonderful song from the 70s- when i heard its upbeat happy vibe paired with the lyrics i knew it was a winner!! What a great message! Xoxox

"Give a little time for the child within you,
Don't be afraid to be young and free.
Undo the locks and throw away the keys
And take off your shoes and socks, and run you.
La, la, la...

Give a little time for the child within you,
Don't be afraid to be young and free.
Undo the locks and throw away the keys
And take off your shoes and socks, and run you.
La, la, la...

Run through the meadow and scare up the milking cows
Run down the beach kicking clouds of sand
Walk a windy weather day, feel your face blow away
Stop and listen: Love you.

Roll like a circus clown, put away your circus frown
Ride on a roller coaster upside down
Waltzing Matilda, Carey loves a kinkatchoo
Joey catch a kangaroo, hug you.

Dandylion, milkweed, silky on a sunny sky
Reach out and hitch a ride and float on by
Balloons down below catching colors of the rainbow
Red, blue and yellow-green: I love you.

Bicycles, tricycles, ice cream candy
Lollypops, popsicles, licorice sticks
Solomon Grundy, Raggedy Andy
Tweedledum and Tweedledee, home free.

Cowboys and Indians, puppydogs and sandpails
Beachballs and baseballs and basketballs, too.
I love forget-me-nots, fluffernutters, sugarpops
I'll hug you and kiss you and love you
La, la, la... Love you"

I love you, mommy

Back to nature

A few of our recent homemade, simple living, adventures! I took the leap into making homemade vitamin c facial serumwhich  mom and i have absutely loved! Buying commercially this stuff is a fortune, but making it myself ensures clean, real ingredients! Raw potent Vitamin c powder, vegetable glycerin and whatever essential oil youd like- we used rose hip oil :)

We also subscribed P to a monthly mailing list for Kids which delivers fun crafts with everything you need right inside! Its called koala crate. This month we built a paper tree with tissue paper leaves and planted real grass seeds for our window seal!

After buying our recent paint from lowes (mentioned in another post) we began making our hopscotch bricks - we even added your hand and footprints to remember! Me and you also painted a road on our flower bed brick border! You enjoyed helping! Until we realized wed purchased oil based paint!!- that was a fun mess to try to clean off of ourselves! Just add water and voila- a disaster stuck to our skin! Haha

We stopped by the Amish food store recently and got eggs, butter, tomatoes and a fried pie ( which we ate before we could photograph its goodness!) p didnt love it though and cried bc it was "too gooey!"  I mean, cried REAL tears over the gooiness!  so in honor lf our amish butter, we came home and made homemade bread, put our real 100% orange juice in a vintage glass oj bottle,  And ate candy necklace.. And enjoyed real Georgia peaches. All in all it was a very hippie week :)
