Excitment!

so many things excite my sweet p, two of which: vehicles and imagination.

Yesterday as we swung on the porch swing you and i looked up and shouted out the cloud animal shapes we saw! We even do this in the house looking up at the ceiling- which i think is adorable of course. Your favorite cloud animal is the "hippoponanuf" as you say :)

here you are pointing and shouting just that!

Then today you got to ride in the front of pawpaws truck and you just about self combusted from the joy! The video i took is the best :)

And one of your great lines of the day while rubbing dawn dish soap all over you, ""Mommy. Dawn hides grease. It cuts grease. I will talk to you about it cutting grease. " you pay really close attention to commercials it would seem (such as how you always ask if i buy "simply orange". )

This was followed by, "Im washing my penis. It feels niiiiice"

Enough is enough

Ok. Enough is enough. You havedone entirely   too much growing in the last couple of weeks. And my heart can NOT take it. I literally feel like ive witnessed, more that usual, the most recent growth spurt slip between my fingers i swear your maturity looked me
In the eyes, stuck its tongue out at me and ran away laughing. This one has been rough for momma.

First your big boy haircut.
Then your ability to suddenly (literally all of the sudden) go out in public without a fuss.
Then you mastered getting in/out of the car without a fight.
You already talk like an adult.
Naps are dissapearing.
You slept with grandmommy all night the other day then napped with me, then this am woke up wet and came to bed with me and slept til time to wake up ( sleeping in our bed was never anything you enjoyed doing).

Then today, stupid me took your side rail off of your crib just to see if it would convert to a toddler bed without feeling flimsy, and you actually liked the ability to jump in and out. I didnt think youd actually SLEEP in it! At nap i asked if you wanted the bars back on and you said no. So you laid down for nap and slept just fine as if it was no big deal. It was for me! I about fell apart!
-I wont even lift you up over your rails again!.
-You wont cry out for me to come pick you up
-what if you unlock the doors?
-Or get into something dangerous during the night?

So many thoughts. But the biggest of all: i wasnt prepared for this to happen so easy or so suddenly. A month ago i thought your be in your crib until at least 3.5. I thought wed plan it out and throw a big party for your big boy bed day! Not: lets take off a siderail and voila, welcome to manhood. Ugh! Oddly, i took crib photos with you last night to document our everyday life moments such as bedtime. I didnt know itd be the last. Kinda like a poem i read recently and loved that said you never know when something is the "last time" with your baby. You just do it and then It just never happens again :( how sad is that fact.

And to top that of, i went through the drive through at our local bbq place and you said oh where are we. I told you and you said lets go in i wanna go in ( not something we usually venture out and do: dining out. But given your recent maturity i said ok lets try. You snuggled me so close in a booth ( again here we go- no highchair. Just the booth), played ipad and when the lady asked what we wanted you said a bbq sammy! It was so cute! You sat so close, all snuggled up. Just me and you. My heart may have bursted right there. Im still looking for it!

You gobbled your dinner. Never fussed. Never tried to run! Never acted out. We paid. Got in the car and left. Like real ppl. Like grown ups. And i love your new ability to not throw a complete fit out in public, but as predicted, i miss my baby and those moments that are gone and i didnt know they were the "last" until now. Youve slipped right though my fingers, right before my eyes, in plain sight, without me even knowing. Father time is a mean , cruel , sneaky jerk.

              Last night, in your crib:

Then today testing out the lacking            siderail

          Then passed out at nap

Snuggled in our booth on a dinner date!

     Sleeping without constrain at bedtime

Boys will be boys!

Today i decided, since your outings have only gotten better and better, to take you to lowes for paint to make your hopscotch stones. Once there you cheered for joy as everything around you reminded you of "bobby!" (Bob the builder). You loved the lumbar and the carts that carried lumbar, the paint, the kitchen appliances and most of all the lawn mowers. We sat and talked with, sat on, hugged and kissed the mowers and you tried each one out for size :) it was adorable. Once home we played in the garage to gear up for our yard sale this weekend! I tried to snatch a little cheap vacuum you like and you said "no mommy dont sell that its mine!" So we kept it needless to say haha. Your humor really makes us laugh so much, tonight was very cold but after climbing grandma and pawpaws neighbors playground you ripped your hood off and said " whew ( wiping your forehead), its hot!" But it was actually freezing haha

The best line of the day as we got ready to go:
Me- ok lets put on your shoes. Right first first!
P- ok! Then wrong foot next!

Tonight we also drove through the best sunsetting sky! So amazing you even cheered in amazement at the "red sky!"

Learning to write!

This baby loves to learn new things! He enjoys showing off new skills as often as he can! Today we worked more on alphabet, and although hes long mastered it on ipad, ipad and true hand writing are completely different beasts! He is doing such an amazing job!

Such an amazing job!!

Sweet toddler sentiments

Today you and grandmommy went to the creek for some more rock throwing and outdoor enjoyment :) grandmommy enjoyed styling your new short do :) you look so handsome and grown up, too!
Before i left for work i was able to get you out of bed when you woke, you said "mommy hold me, im scared of people in my room". Of course i stole the opportunity to snuggle you before work ( i went in late at 930). When we sat on the couch to snuggle i told you gma was on her way bc i would have to work and you said "please dont go i want you to stay here and play with me and hold me." I said "i know i dont want to have to leave you either. It makes me so so sad" you said, "does it make you sad you have to go to work? I dont want you to go to work. Does it make your heart happy though when i love you?"
Yes. Yes it does.  My heart it happier than you will ever know.

Luckily gma saved the day and came in with new orange cones for your trike and your cars as well as a tball set!! You wrre so excited and said "will daddy teach me to play tball!?!" (Bc gma said daddy use to play baseball too!) so as i left you showed me how to go around the cones and even ran out to smile with you tball set :) what a great day youre going to have today with gma!

Barber Shop for Mr. Big Boy!

Today, instead of making the 20 min drive to gallatin to get your very long hair cut, i decided to try the barber in white house- literally a mile from our house! You have done better and better with each hair visit, that i thought you may do just fine in a real barber chair, and having someone cut your hair who specializes in boys/ mens cuts! You were so excited because you said you were going to a big boy hair place like daddy! and he used clippers on you for the first time which you also said was just like daddy :) This was the shortest i have ever taken your hair, but wanted something new and fresh, out of your eyes, and cool for summer! We happen to love it! You said you did too!

But Firstly, let me note you have grown up so much in the last week that today just seemed to continue that- you didn't fuss getting in the car, or getting out, or getting your hair cut, or leaving and getting back in the car ( which is usually your big trigger). then me and grand mommy took you to mcdonalds to play in their play place (which you've never done before, you've been to chik fil-a's play place once but that was it). we also get you an ice cream cone every month on your birth day, the 25th, so we decided wed go ahead and get you your cone today since you did so amazing at the barber! Again, you didn't fuss when you had to stop play to sit down to eat, nor did you fuss when we told you it was time to leave. who is this child? and where did phoenix go?? You LOVED playing with the kids at the play place, a 4 year old little girl and an older boy both kept you very happy and showed you the way through the play place maze of slides and tunnels. When we got home you even asked if that boy was your brother :) Once home we went to your favorite spot in our neighborhood: the creek, where you love to throw rocks and enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy going and watching and throwing rocks in with you :)

Also this week you have fallen asleep randomly while playing iPad in my lap - which is unheard of because you have never been one to fall asleep anywhere except your bed! I relished in the snuggled and snapped some pics to remember the moment by. Today you managed to fall asleep again on my inside in the rocking chair : the true sign your baby is a toddler if you ask me.

Not so happy that i woke you up:

"Im just laxin' in the bath like fishies"
This mornings before and after:
