Beach vaca 2013
While eating out at a reataurant with just the three of us, i was granted my very first kiss. I waited long and hard for it, 14 months. Most babies are giving them from just a few months old. Not p. He made me wait. And it was well worth the wait. So worth it.
Smashed toe
Per usual you have an injury. This was a good one. You stepped up on the lower ledge of our barstool and it tipped it over. The padded seat landed right on the cuticle of your right big toe, right where the nail meets the skin. You cried i stantly and right away i saw it turning purple and the tip forming tons of tiny red and purple dots. I knew it was going to be bad. We iced it and i gave you medicine for pain, but you refused to walk on it all night. The next day you walked on the outsode of your foot. And for 4 days you didnt wear shoes. Mikeys wedding was a few days later so you walked down the aisle barefoot bc we still couldnt get itin shoes without it hurting. It even forced ua to buy your first ever pair of flip flops! Id acoided them until now bc they look so uncomfortable for little toes and feet. About two weeks into the injury i was able to drain the blood inyour sleep, it had healed enough that it wasnt as painful and the blood had actually pooled in the cucticle. It had apretty good progression and today, several weeks later, the nail is more notmal appearinf but it's about at the point of falling off completely. Im babying it so that you hopefully dont have ongoing issues with it. Ive kept some photos of the timeline... They arent pretty though. Poor boo boo.
Update: while visiting pappy the toenail came off all on its own! We found it and the next morninf the toenail fairy :) left a gift for being so brave!!
Family heirloom
I was given this cast iron owl by
Mammy when we bought our house in 2008/2009. I put it out in the yard assuming it was a type of scarcrow, never really sure. I knew it was her fathers, pawpaw beasley. Tonight i decided to look it up online. To my amazement i found nearly nothing of any help, except for one singular photo of one from an auction. The selling price? $11,000 ?! I had to clear my eyes and double check that number! There are none for sale online and very little info was given other than the manufacture. It was C.W Parker of Abilene, Kansas. It said it was an extremely rare carnival target practice game and if hit in the center hole, the wings would fly open ( i always wondered why the wings were mobile!) im in complete shock to have finally figured out what this owl is for and i have no idea how he came to own the owl! Ill have to call mammy and ask her. So for now, id better move this statue to the back yard where hea safer!! Heres our owl painted white, hes been white as long as ive known of him... And
Then here is the photo from the auction as well as the only history i found on C.W Parker
