Our Little BOY!

Its official! Baby B is a BOY! I knew it! I dreamed it was 100% team blue! Ben thought Boy as well..and as mom would say- the pencil test equalled boy also :) So yesterday, April 21st we threw a reveal dinner at Bottomview Farms in Portland, TN. The place is so cool with tons for kids to do outside. The weather changed a little and dropped to the mid 50s for the day but the rain subsided before the party began so that was a blessing. We planned to give the envelope with the gender in it to the party store to fill a box mom had painted and i had ordered a sign for that read, " The contents inside will reveal what we hide!"..the party store filled the box with either pink or blue balloons and we picked it up before the party yesterday morning..the party store workers were so excited that they wouldnt even let us pay for the balloons! They insisted we just take the box and go before they spilled the beans! so we did! the Party started at about 1:00, there was fried fish, chicken, wings, beans, cole slaw, pink and blue deviled eggs, a baked potato and sweet potato bar with all the possible toppings, rolls, corn bread, an ice cream bar with all the toppings, pickle shaped cookies, pink and blue cupcakes, carrot cake, pink and blue cotton candy, peach cobbler, and a popcorn machine! We used pink and blue paint swatches stapled together to create silverware holders, and had homemade topiaries for centerpieces :) It was such a blast! After we ate, we took the box outside and opened it up! 24 BLUE balloons shot out of the box and soared into the sky! I cant wait to see the photos that our friends Terri and Frank both captured, they both were there on the front row with their DSLR's and we couldnt be more thankful! Ashlee filmed the whole thing which was awesome as well! Those moments just happen too fast- you have to capture them to reminisce. It appeared that about 60 people were in attendance, well beyond what we'd imagined!! We were so happy to have so much support and family to spend the day with! It was so much fun! Now Ben and I will prepare the nursery, pick a name and get all this boy stuff in order! Finally we have a direction! And we couldnt be more excited to meet our little boy!

Ill post more pics when i get some from Terri and Frank! Also knew this week is the AWESOME dutch door that my grandfather made for us! We wanted one to keep the cats out of the nursery plus have something other than the hideous baby gate idea! We LOVE this door! It not only is beautiful, but it was made by Baby B's great grandfather making it extra special and sentimental :)

20 weeks!

Were half way there! I cant believe 20 weeks has gone by so fast?! This week has been a week full of new flutters in my tummy- esp. at night when im lying down. Otherwise this week has been full of homework and clinicals, and i feel ive had no time- once again- to do anything else.. but i only have a few weeks left before summer break....a much needed break! Luckily, the last week has been pretty uneventful- just enjoying the experience and trying to accept the ever expanding waist line- as a female this is def. hard to do! You have to keep reminding yourself its a human not your last 3 meals! Im actually looking forward to working all this off in a few months! Baby in tow!

20 weeks- halfway!!!!

First time "meeting" you!

April 8th, Easter- we officially "met" Baby B! Well, i felt like we met! We were lying in bed, Ben was about asleep and i kept feeling like i could feel the baby moving. I was laying on my back so i think that made it easier for me to feel it, since i was told i had an anterior facing uterus haha- anyways, It felt like little air pockets, almost like they take your breath away- they are so fast and subtle. But these felt different than the ones before..so i placed my hand on my stomach and pushed down right where i was feeling the movement and just like that, with so much strength, Baby B hit right back! Right where my finger tips were! I about came out of the bed! Ben woke up and was startled, i grabbed his hand and put it right whered id just felt the movement and he got the same thing! That was the last we felt for the night but it was amazing! We joked that it was as if Baby B high fived us, or maybe a fist bump? haha- we were just amazed at how forceful that little 11 ounce baby could be! It was more confirming than an ultrasound could ever be! It was as if we really met for the 1st time!

Stroller decisions made- CHECK!

Well we decided on our stroller...haha thats funny to think that in the long scheme of things and the long list of things we need we have ONE whopping item decided upon! But its progress none the less! We have decided on the Baby Jogger City Mini GT and we couldnt be more excited!! We had it narrowed down to the black and orange or the solid black one.. I think I like the solid black one bc we dont know which car seat we will use yet and the orange may or may not go with it? plus, i felt like the black may be more timeless and sleek?? thoughts?? anywho- heres our final choice in both colors!!!
I just love this thing! I got to see it in person and the canopy is HUGE! when fully pulled down it covers half the opening of the front of the stroller, the wheels are AIR, it weighs less than 20lb, it closes in one pull of the handle (which is located in the seat) and collapses TINY! It is the same price as the BOB but the deciding factor for us was the light weight and tiny size after collapsing, that way its easier to lug around with baby in tow and can easily fit in any trunk! Its $350 but we're hoping to order it from bed bath and beyond with a 20% coupon which would bring it down the other model we had looked at with the non-air/ plastic tires and non adjustable handlebar.  yay for making decisions  :))

and a look at the handle in the seat to collapse it:

and i know ive posted this pic but i love how simple it is!:

19 week ultrasound!

Today we went at 8am to our "20 week" ultrasound, aka screening ultrasound. I was def. nervous just working where i do and seeing everything i see. My nerves have been slightly calmed by having a great check up :) We looked away for the gender portion of the u/s since we will be having a reveal dinner and find out with everyone at once! But that didnt stop us from wanting to cheat- it was pretty tough not to! But we didnt! I think it looks like a boy haha- no really i just have a feeling its a boy!  Kidneys, bladder, brain, limbs, spine and heart were all present and working! Sadly, our 3d images were not very good, baby wouldnt give us a good frontal view of its face so it looks more like an elf, or something out of harry potter.. haha! But we know its just all distorted, the ears and nose appear strange so it just wasnt our day apparently.. but at that point i didnt really care since the baby appeared healthy! here are some of the pics anyways just for your enjoyment. I cant wait to meet Baby B so i can really see what we look like! Im trying to talk ben into letting us get another one out of pocket for fun at around 28 weeks in june- maybe for my bday?! they run about $139 but by that point they have fat on their bodies and show up better and look more normal! Id love a peak inside around that point but i guess well see! Also, we decided on the City Mini GT stroller- its sold out everywhere so we're just waiting for it to come back in before getting our 1st big baby item!  yay!

I could get use to this:

We have to stare at this for 2 weeks!!!

3d of profile...sort of haha
