Little brother

Sweet little brother is still sleepy! At 2 months, He sleeps most of the day but boy when he wakes he can charm you with some major smiles! He has what i call “smiley eyes” too! They are beautiful and bright eyes that smile as big as his mouth! He is up to the exact point p was at at 2 month for weight and height!! 13lb!! He loves to eat and is a quiet boy, he sleeps most of thennight too- hes in bed asleep for the night by 1100 or so, and sleeps til 2 or 3 some noghts and 4am other nights! He usually eats again around 6am and sleeps in til about 830/9! He is a great sleeper and ks so content! His coos are so precious and soft and loving, and he loves to look at the ceiling. He has big big fatty cheeks that rest

On his shoulders! His eyes are still grey but turning browner each day- he grew in dark eyebrows and long eyelashes recently too! He peed in phoenixs mouth in the bath the other day hahaha p was holding him to take a photo- he was resting on ps knees, facing p, and a rainbow of pee went straight into phes mouth! Phe freaked and washed his tongue haha i say its payback to p hahaha! Kai is eatinf anout 4-6 oz now at most feedings and still cluster feeds around 5pm to store up for his sleepy bedtime! Ive noticed the last few days too hed rather fall asleep in his seat than in your arms, he almost acts restless in my arms vs a seat or swing. Hes now in his 3 mo. Clothes but alsp fits some 0-3 still. P is lovin him so much and thinks hes so special, he says all the tome “hes just  a cutie pie!” Bc kai is so laid back and quiet, p still gets most of mamas attention as he likes it! Kai celebrated his 1st xmas with us- and i never documented halloween on here bc kai came early, but my mom ran out and found a camo onesie to go with pa halo themed costume! He waa phes army sidekick! For xmas we gave kai two personalized books and a sweet keepsake rattle! Grandma got him a sophie the giraffe teether like p had! His Aunt carla got him a sweet keepsake frame with his birth stats on it and dede got him stacking toys thatd id asked for! Peppers met kai and took photos with him asleep just likw he did with phe! And kai met santa twice with phe and was a good boy both times!!! My heart is so full and i love my boys beyond words!!

On his by “drive by” i say. A smack on the head or “rougher than it should be” hug as he walks by. He tells kai he loves him and calls him his cutie pie. The other day saying awe look at his cute littlw arm bone haha he doesnt love the crying still but luckily for p kai barely ever does that. Only if he wants a bottle or has pooped. He is the most content little guy and sleeps most of his day and night away ! He is the yang to phes yin. So far they are night and day but look an awfully a lot alike. Once

More, im striving to memorize each second and each wrinkle and little face this baby makes bc now i especially know how fast this will go. It so sad once more! But im beyond grateful for the chance to do it again! Me and kai sleep in ps trundle just to allow for max sleep opportunities bc p still wakes a few times and looks for me and if im right then then its one less wake up for us all! Kai wakes to eat and goes right back to sleep ! He is eating about 4 oz a feeding and sleeps newrly 23.5 hours a day haha. He is also starting to smile! He started last week at 6 weeks. He also started grasping today, ripping hair or shirts at the blink of an eye. We are so exstatic and beyon thrilled to have this little baby as ours! Thank God hes healthy and happy!

Last moment with my only child

My mom sent me this beautiful moment that I didn’t know was captured, this is the last sweet moment with my only child. He showed up in tears and distraught bc he needed to be sure “I was ok” once he heard our breech boy required mama to have surgery. He had been optimistic I wouldn’t and was terrified when we’d talk about the possibility. He embraced me in big love once he saw that I had made it out and was in one piece. I hadn’t yet truly held kai, and he was not yet in the room. So this moment is pretty special to me. My last moment with my first baby, my only child, my teacher, and my biggest fan. ❤️ #allthefeels #mamasboy

Last night as a 4 yr old

P cried so hard before he fell asleep bc he didnt want to "lose" being 4. He said it was such a great year and he was so sad to not ever be that age again. Then curled up in my arm to sleep instead of Rocking bc he wanted me to "hold him on his last night of 4". Hes an old soul. He literally balled. Bc hell never get 4 back. Thats pretty big for him to understand. I am sad too bc 4 has been so magical and 5 is one year closer to being such a big grown boy who may not snuggle me or kiss me or tell me how much they love me and want to marry me ❤️. I love this boy with my whole body. Happy last day of 4 and happy birthday evesweet  baby. 

Ticks and foreign bodies, oh my!

This weekend we went to dede's house for jareds 5th bday. The kids swam in the kiddie pool and did slip n slide. That night we cane home to our beta fish which had died and we put him in the toilet for p to send off. P got so sad bc he loved the fish and when he cried he fell into my arms. He was naked and about to take a bath so as i loved on him i felt something near his left armpit on his back, i spun him around and saw a tiny baby tick. I knew it was new and he began to cry bc he was so scared. We got the tick off whole and taped it up and put it in a baggy to keep. They say keep them in case you ever need them to be tested for disease. He was so brave and we knew he mustve gotten it from dedes house out in the back yard. 

Then tonight, 3 days later, while in bed he  cried right bc he doesnt want to turn 5 and is so sad tomorrow is his last day as a  4 yr old. He cried bc "4 is the best age" , he said hes too sad to turn 5 bc its not as good as 4 and he doesnt want to get older. When you get older you have to clean and stuff. As he cried, he mentioned his right ear saying, "my ear feels weird like a tag is in my ear" (Like rustling)  so crying i think made him notice it felt odd in there. I had to use the otoscope and saw a pretty good sized seed from what i assume to be a tree or plant as far into his ear as possible! I had to use the otoscope and a water spray bottle as an impromptu ear flush kit! 

He was shaking crying when i confirmed he had something in there. 

He said "i am not pwepared for this" but He was sooooo brave!!!! Laid and did everything i asked him to do! I said im so proud of u for telling me your ear felt weird. 

It was a hard seed and im sure rubbing the drum. It was as far in as anything could go

I was nervous at first that i wouldnt get it

But the good news is NOTHING can get past youe ear. Its a dead end

But it was a round heavy seed thank God so it flushed out after about 4 attempts. 

He cried so hard praying it wasnt a centipede - Thanks a lot uncle mikey for showing p a video of centipedes coming our of ears! 

Poor thing will be exhaustrd tomorrow bc we didnt lay down until 11 due to the ear ordeal!

Afterwards he He said," well i guess lets go put it in a baggy by the tick" 😂

Then said ,  "im not going to dedes again" hahahaha. Hes goinf out of 4 with a bang!!! Heres to the last day tomorrow of my baby being 4 yrs old. And what a fun yr 4 has been (despite lip stitches, ticks, seeds in the ear and himfinding out hes getting a brother not a sister as he said he wanted!) 

Ps first prepared meal

P cut the peppers alone and then seasoned them with dill and water and baked them in the toaster oven! Then we both tasted each of the delicious peppers! So proud of my little chef!!!

Another first, visiting someones house

After playing in our yards all night, Cove invited p over for a tv show at 9pm and p wanted me to go. I said im going in and u have to make this big decision. He was hesitent and tearful so i said lets go in. Youll see them tomorrow and ur tired. He went back and forth and then said i do wanna go i can do it. So he had me walk him to their door , He smothered me in kisses and hugs and put them in his heart and said bye mommy i love u
And in he went. It was the forst time hes ever left me to be in someones house other than gmas. So bittersweet for me. He stayed an hour and returned home happy and without tears, he was so pepud of himself, as was i, but i smothered him in hugs and kisses as if hedbeen  gone a lifetime. Its hard letting go of your heart. 

Great grandpa gyant

While the Gyants are in town visiting, mom said Pop told her that Phoenix is anointed,.he will be a leader someday.he said I feel the holy spirit in him so strong he makes him shiver. 

Well we've always agreed he was born a leader and not a follower, and pop said " and a little child will lead them"  (scripture )

Mom texted me to tell me that

Pop said "when im.dead and gone and he's grown up you remember the old grey haired man spoke of this child's greatness to come"

Pretty much gives ya chills right? We all know p is special, from his early speech and verbal skills, to early mobility and walking, to his inate sense of knowledge and intuition. At 4 hes well beyond his years and seems light years ahead of most kids, esp. spiritually and mentally, not just book smarts but inution and the ability to pick up on subtle cues and body language. Its just amazing to see someone who notices it as well, esp someone who doesnt see him except maybe twice a year. I too am excited to see what my baby boy does in this life. 

"First" of childhood

I love watching my son do things for the first time and the amazement on his face that we all take for granted. Watching a "first" never gets old. This guy has been waiting for 4.11 years to go into the crawl space and then his day arrived! It was pure joy for him! #boymom #childhoodunplugged

Bindin love

Often times we have to

Hunt the house for our beloved bindin and sometimes we even get nervous bc it takes a little too long to find it! We always double check when we leave somewhere that we have it bc bindin is p's whole universe! Today we cpuldnt find it and p got so upset he nearly hyperventilated and said "i cant breath mommy i cant breath " as tears welled up in his eyes. I retraced again and again and then spotted it right there in plain sight but still out of sight! His reaction is always overwhelming love and affection to his blanket once back in his arms. I voice recorded him talking to bindin (right after this

Photo was taken) saying oh bindin i love you more than anything dont scare me like that i love you so much! ❤ bindin is a family member and we all keep our eyes on him so not to actually lose him! 

 

 

1st pool day 2017

We woke up and decided to try out the new pool in Gallatin today. It was a wonderful pool with large slides and splash pad plus the best part, a zero entry pool! P has grown every summer in his fears of water and today jumped right in happily without a float ! He jumped off the edges over and over again yelling "cannon balllll!" I am so proud of him!!!! We had an awesome time! Admission is 7$ pp and food is available at a concession. It is somewhere that well go back to a lot this summer!
