We finally got snow. Lots of snow! Like 7" of snow! Solid ice underneath that, it's just keeps coming and coming! Ben even missed work Monday and Tuesday bc of it! Grandma spent the night Sunday, thinking we'd wake to just a tiny bit of snow but instead it was a blizzard! The first day ( mon) we all went outside and played. It was grey skies and ice falling instead of snow. You loved it but said "ouch it hurts my face!" Mine too buddy! We didn't stay out long bc the ice was coming down so hard that you said you were cold after about 20 min. We hat hot chocy (which you insisted gma make :) ) and a warm bath. Gma went home and you napped. It was a great day!
Tues, we woke up to more snow and sunny skies! We went outside and used a float inter tube to sled! It was SO FUN! You yelled "my turn mommy!" So I put you on with me and we went down our yard, across the street and all the way into the neighbors yard, literally hitting her front porch! You screamed all the way for daddy to save you hahah. Then you asked to ride with daddy, but ended up yelling for me the whole way. The you cried to go in bc you were not a fan of the sledding! I promised you that one day you would be :) before we went in Ben rode the float and hit a stick and busted it. You didn't like this either and have talked about it for 2 days now, telling me how it scared you! Today's snow was solid, packing snow- we barley made foot prints!
Today, Ben went to work, even though he said they shouldn't have gone bc it was so icy, and me and you woke to sunny skies again and even more snow! Were at about 7" or more in some spots! I haven't seen this much snow since maybe middle school! (And I hadn't sledding since then either! I forgot how fun it is! When you're bigger well make lots of sledding memories!) we bundled up and went into the back yard to enjoy today's powder fine snow! We had the most fun playing in it bc it was airy and beautiful and made us feel weightless! It's so tall that you almost didn't even have to step down off our patio step! You made snow angels with me and slid down your slide into the heaps of snow! We rolled down our backyards very, very mini hill. I haven't done that in so long that the last memory I have is of my grins mothers house in Madison when I was a little girl, maybe 5 or 6?? So I laughed until my tummy hurt, realizing just how much I missed doing that! You loved it so much! We had to replace your gloves once bc snow got into them and you said it hurt and burned, which is true! So I double gloved you and put rubber bands around the gloved and sleeves so that no snow snuck in! Worked like a charm! My hands eventually went numb and we came in, otherwise we would've stayed out even longer! You were having a blast. You ate all of the icicles you found and we sampled the snow as well. It was a perfect day! Once in we had a picnic in the living tom and even began to snow yet again! Tonight's temps are suppose to reach the negative digits! Most businesses even have closed this week. The mail hasn't even run! I've never experienced snow like this that I can remember!!!
Lately you have also grown so much. Your fits have basically stopped. After lots of hard work and consistent discipline and education. You have also finally stopped hitting! Yay! We worked really hard on that one. You have been full throttle in imaginative play, telling me who I am what to say and how got say it ( mommy you be the doggy and say this like this and I'll be the giraffe and do this). You have also started to have more patience regarding self entertaining while I make dinner or pick up the house, etc. before you would throw a fit if I even thought of leaving our games/ activity/ play.
You are growing so fast! Tonight you ran to pee ( which you already do standing up... And you're two. 2. What two year old stands to pee? you!) and you shut the door in my face and said "no mommy stay out there". I have to admit I was sad. You peed, dumped it into the big potty and flushed. All while not even making a mess. My big grown boy :( maybe I should remind you that you are 2 and to take it easy; let me enjoy my baby!! You told me as I plated your dinner tonight, " thank you for dinner, mommy" with the sweetest little voice. I melted and demanded a kiss! We learned about punctuation this week, too and you point out exclamation marks saying " exclamation hearts! They make me sound excited!" If we tell you something one time, you've got it for life. It's just unreal. Seriously.
It's been a super week and I am home tomorrow too so we shall see what kind of trouble we get into- being snowed in has been pretty fun :) especially since I'm snowed in with YOU!!! Xoxoxox
