Last night while telling stories for bedtime, p looked at me and said, "mommy. When u see a xmas tree. U have to say oh xmas tree , how lovely are your branches". I was all fuzzy and smiley bc i thought that was the sweetest thing! Knowing gma had to have taught him that i texted her and she said, "Oh my goodness, I sang that to him today and I swear he didn't listen!" We are alwas amazed at what he takes in when we least expect it. After that He said, "tell me a story about the movie theatre and a kitty going to the movies and the preview about 'secret life of pets'... Mommy why do the movies we buy at home not have so many previews but the movie theatre did?" So observant for a 3 year old, lead alone one who is full of nonstop energy, i love the moments when he shows me how he can be busy and paying attention. Much more adult-like that we give them credit for.
Then in the evening, i giggled as a Heran around the bonus room with his sword on his back like a dolphin fin yelling "im the rocket man! Rocket man- pshhhhew!!!!!" ( insert lots of rocket and explosive noises).
Those noises use to terrify me before p, when id hear them in public. Id think, boys. They are so busy. Such a handful. And surly exhausting. Now- now i think... Boys. They are so busy. Such a handful. awfully exhausting.the best gift on earth and everything id ever want. If my son were none of those things mentioned, this would be one sad, lonely life.
